Principal's Report
Dear Parents/Carers,
We have a new display of our school's Good Samaritan values on the steps leading to the gate near the Parish carpark.
These values are an integral part of our Catholicity at St John's. We refer to them on a daily basis with the students, and each week we acknowledge students who consistently put these values into action. We name them the 'Good Samaritan' values for two reason: firstly, they are values espoused by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, the religious order who worked tirelessly to establish our school more than one hundred years ago; and, they connect so well to the parable of the Good Samaritan. All of our classes learn about this parable as part of the Religious Education curriculum to help the students gain a greater understanding of, and connection to, the values.
Book Week
The Australian Book Council of Australia is holding this annual event this week. Children have had the opportunity to engage in some activites in the classroom and at lunchtime in the Library. We look forward to seeing them dressed up on Friday as their favourite 'wild' character/creature or as their favourite book character.
P & F Meeting
The next P & F Meeting is being held next Tuesday 27 October, 7.00-8.00pm. It will be held via Zoom. More details will be provided by the P & F. I hope that you will take advantage of the fact that you do not need to leave home in order to attend!
