Principal's Report
Dear Parents/Carers,
"Loving God, help us to teach our children that you love us totally and unconditionally. Help us to encourage our children to grow in love and to learn how to say sorry, knowing that you always forgive. Give us the courage to pray with our children and to share our faith with them as we journey together. We ask this through Christ our Lord."
Following on from the celebration for the Sacrament of Confirmation last week, tonight many of our students in Year 2 will be celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This sacrament helps the children to focus on the unconditional love of God and how important it is to repair relationships through the act of forgiveness. It is through forgiving others that we can be the face of Christ to others.
Staffing for 2022
This end of the year sometimes involves movement of staff as they look to further their experiences and build on their career. Mr Borg will be leaving to take up a leadership position at Holy Spirit, Carnes Hill; Miss Grasso will be teaching at Mary Immaculate, Eaglevale; Miss Pannu will be teaching at St Thomas More, Ruse. Mrs Korny and Mrs King, who have been working in a part-time capacity for some year, will be working at St Clare's, Narellan Vale and Mary Immaculate, Eaglevale. Each of these staff members have made valuable contributions to St John's and, while we will miss them, we wish them the very best as they continue in the wonderful vocation of teaching.
I am pleased to announce that we welcome Mr Stephen Zamroz and Miss Natalie Johnson to fulltime teaching positions at St John's. We are still in the process of recruiting for a classroom teacher/leadership position. Once all recruitment has been finalised we will be able to let you know our staffing list for 2022.
Support for refugees
Information has been provided in our Newsletter about our Christmas Fun Day being held next Wednesday 8 December. The gold coin donation on this day is to raise funds for refugees from Afghanistan who are currently being looked after in the Campbelltown area. Our parish of St John's are providing direct support for these families who have arrived in Australia with very little following the uprising in their country a few months back. If you would like to support these families in other ways, please contact our parish office 4625 8044.
Parent Survey
The purpose of this anonymous survey is to provide parents with an opportunity for input into areas affecting the education of the students and the general functioning of the school. Results will also assist the school in the preparation of the Annual School Report. To access the survey, please click on this link.
Wishing you a safe and happy week,
