Principal's Report

Dear Parents/Carers,

Lord God, may we, your people, who look forward to the birthday of Christ experience the joy of salvation and celebrate that feast with love and thanksgiving. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

As we are now in the second week of Advent, we are encouraged to reflect on how we can prepare our hearts for His birthday. In this preparation do we think about how we can encounter our Lord on a daily basis, and not just wait for December 25? God speaks to us and is visible to us in countless ways each day. Does this period of preparation for Christmas help or hinder us in being able to perceive His presence and His voice? And when you do hear Him speak, how do you react?

Christmas Fun Day - Support for refugees

It was certainly a very colourful day at school today with the children dressed in Christmas mufti, and they had a great day engaging in a range of Christmas activities. Thank you for your support of the refugees from Afghanistan via the gold coin donation. What a great way for the children to be reminded of how we can help others during the season of Advent. Just a reminder that if you would like to support these refugee families in other ways, please contact our parish office 4625 8044.

Student reports

Today you will receive information via Compass about accessing your child's Semester 2 report. As a result of the extended period of Remote Learning and the lack of opportunities for teachers to provide quality assessment tasks to determine student learning attainment and/or growth, the report will look different to the one you received at the end of Semester 1. The report this Semester provides information about your child’s participation in learning only. If you would like to dicuss any aspect of your child's report with their teacher, do not hesitate to make contact with the office.

Staffing for 2022

Following on from last week's Newsletter, I can inform you that Miss Clapson has accepted a teaching position at Ruse Public School starting next year. Also, Ms Warren, one of our School Support Officers, is moving to Mudgee with her family and will be working at St Matthew's School. I wish them both every success in these new roles.

In next week's Newsletter we will be able to publish an updated list of staff for 2022. The children will also have the chance next week to meet their new teacher.

Wishing you a safe and happy week,

Paul Moroney

Principal
