Farmer Day Fundraiser

This Friday is our 'Farmer Day Fundraiser.' Your child is encouraged to dress as a farmer and to donate a gold coin to support Project Compassion, an annual initiative coordinated by Caritas (https://www.caritas.org.au/project-compassion/). Our focus is on supporting families in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country severely affected by civil war, as they learn to support and sustain themselves through farming.

P & F Association

Last week we had a terrific response to the first P & F Meeting for the year. A new Executive was elected and I thank each member for their commitment of time and talent. There was agreement that the P & F is very much looking forward to being able to organise a number of events this year that will help families to connect with our school community, something that has been difficult during the pandemic. I urge you to find ways in which you can support them in their work.

COVID Safe Measures

In recent weeks we have seen a spike in the number of COVID cases in our school community. Thank you to the parents who have ensured that children are kept home when they have symptoms or have tested positive. I pray that this phase of the pandemic passes quickly and that no one in our community suffers greatly.

We are currently making plans to enable parents to safely attend some of our regular school events. In Term 2, we plan to invite parents to our Friday Awards Assemblies, as well as any Masses and liturgies that we hold. In time, when the number of COVID cases decrease, we can then move to more informal and social events at school.

Kindergarten 2023 Enrolments

If you have a friend or family member who is considering enrolling their child at St John's for Kindergarten 2023, we ask that you encourage them to contact our office for an enrolment form. Ideally we would like all completed forms returned by Friday 8 April.

Staff Professional Development Day

We are giving you advance notice that our staff will have one of its allocated Professional Development days on Monday 2nd May. This will be a pupil-free day.
