Deputy Principal report
HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY WINTER BREAK
Semester One is coming to a close. It certainly has been a busy first half of 2022. The students and teachers are ready for a well deserved break.
We wish all students and their families a safe and enjoyable winter break. It has been wonderful to have some continuity with student’s learning this semester. We have also been pleased to reconnect with parents and friends at various school events. Our community looks forward to this continuing throughout the remainder of this year. Thank you to our students, parents and friends for their ongoing support.
DOGS CONNECT PROGRAM COMPETITION- CONGRATULATIONS
Thank you to all the students who entered the Maple Colouring and Poster Competition. All the entries were fabulous and made it a great challenge to judge the winners.

Congratulations to these students. The past two days students have received zooper doopers and today they received a certificate. Their images and posters will also be displayed around the school to remind everyone of Maple and the expectations we need to follow when she first arrives next term.
DOGS CONNECT PROGRAM- SURVEY
Thank you to the students and their families who have completed the ‘Dogs Connect Program Survey’.
It is essential that every family complete this survey to ensure that we can meet the needs of each child in the school. The survey can be accessed by clicking on the link- Dogs Connect Program Survey. We are hoping to have Maple begin the second week of next term but must have the survey completed by families.
As mentioned in the previous newsletter, on Thursday, 21 July 2022, (Term 3, Week 1) an afternoon tea will be organised at 2:20pm to discuss and answer any questions about the Dogs Connect Program with parents and carers.
UNIFORM FOCUS- HOUSE COLOUR COMPETITION
This term we reintroduced our whole school reward system with a focus on uniform.
Each week students are reminded about the uniform focus area every morning and by their classroom teachers. During the week teachers check to make sure that students in their class are following that particular focus on uniform. If they are wearing the correct uniform on a certain day that week, teachers provide students with a token for their House Colour. This token is then placed into the canister outside the Community Room. At the end of the term the tokens are counted and the House Team with the highest amount of tokens is rewarded with a mufti day and zooper dooper.
Yesterday the Year 6 House Captains counted the tokens. The tokens were placed out in rows of ten so they could be counted easily and it could be checked by others for accuracy.
As you are already aware, Therry House (Yellow) had the most number of tokens. If your child was away today, they will still be given an opportunity to wear mufti and have their zooper dooper. Below are the results.
