Principal's Report

Dear parents and carers,

Dear Lord we pray for Queen Elizabeth and her exceptional reign,
her deep affection for her people,
her lifelong desire to serve the common good,
her humility and grace, hard work and dedication,
we thank You, Living Lord.

Our school joins the global community in honouring the life of Queen Elizabeth. In the midst all the traditions and ceremonies that are taking place at the moment in the United Kingdom, it is obvious that the dedication she gave to her role has been acknowledged around the world. Her life was definitely a lesson in loyalty and commitment. In speaking with some of the children at school, most were not sure what she did but they seemed to have an understanding that she was important because she did her job for so long. One comment from a child summed up a lot of the responses I was given: "I know that she was very old and still doing her job really well."

Next week, classes will be engaged in some activities to help them connect with her story, and on Tuesday they are able to wear blue mufti clothes, as that was her favourite colour.

Just like all schools across Australia, we will be closed on the newly announced Public Holiday on Thursday 22 September.

Year 6 Canberra Excursion

Congratulations to the Year 6 children on a successful excursion to Canberra. Staff who were with them commented that they were fully engaged at all the venues they visited and were excellent ambassadors for our school.
P & F Movie Night
There is information in today's Newsletter about a fundraising activity next Monday evening, 19 September. The P & F receive a portion of any tickets purchased, so it would be great to have as many families as possible support this event. Please note that a parent/carer needs to attend with your child. There will not be supervision provided.

Staff Development Day

The next Staff Development Day will be held on Friday 14 October. Please note that this will be a Pupil Free Day.

Wishing you all a happy and safe week,

Paul Moroney
