Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
Dear Lord, thank you for your forgiveness. Thank you for not abandoning us to our mistakes, but for reaching out instead to bring us home. Help me accept your mercy without shame. Thank you for the love you have poured out for me and all of your children. Help me live out of that love today. Amen.
The parish Sacramental Program for Reconciliation has commenced and so I ask that you pray for those children as they grow in understanding of God's merciful love. Forgiveness is one of our school's Good Samaritan values and we are regularly reminding the students about how forgiveness is an acknowledgement that we are all human and we all make mistakes. As adults, it is important that we model for our children how to forgive and how to ask for forgiveness. It can be in those small moments, for example when someone cuts in front of us when driving, or a if shopkeeper overcharges us, or when we need to say sorry for breaking something that we have borrowed. These moments can be very powerful for our children.
Thank you
I would like to pass on my thanks to you all for your prayerful support following the passing of my mother. It was of great comfort knowing that you had me and my family in your thoughts and prayers. The children have been wonderful upon my return, with many of them expressing their condolences.
Transition to School Playgroup
Last week we began the Transition to School Playgroup for the students commencing Kindergarten in 2023. It is wonderful being able to run this again, for the first time since 2019. One of the main purposes of the playgroup is to provide the children and their parents with the opportunity to meet other families and become more familiar with our school before they commence school. This program will continue for the next two weeks.
World Teachers Day
This Friday 28 October, schools across Australia acknowledge World Teachers Day. Your child may like to create a thank you card, personal note or drawing for their teacher as a simple way of acknowledging the care and dedication they show to their work.
Wishing you a safe and rewarding week ahead.
