Principal's Report
Dear Parents/Carers,
May the glory and the promise
of this joyous time of year
bring peace and happiness to you
and those you hold most dear.
And may Christ, Our Risen Saviour,
always be there by your side
to bless you most abundantly
and be your loving guide.
Amen
During this week the students across our school have been sharing the events of Holy Week so that they grow in understanding of this most significant time in our Church's year. Teaching children about the events leading up to Easter can be difficult, especially as it includes the details of Jesus' death. However, it is important that we focus on the message of hope and joy through His resurrection - there is always 'light in the midst of darkness.' Of course, the joy of Easter becomes easy for children to understand when there are chocolate eggs involved! I encourage you to join in a Church service this weekend to help bring to life this most beautiful expression of God's love for us. For times of services in the St John's Parish, visit this link.
Cross Country
Thank you to the many parents who were able to volunteer last Friday at our school's Cross Country and to the P & F for providing snow cones for the children. It was an extremely successful day and a wonderful example of our supportive community. I would especially like to acknowledge the work of Mrs Marshall in coordinating the day.
ANZAC Day
Students are welcome to join the school at the Campbelltown ANZAC Day March on Tuesday 25 April. We will gather at the entrance to Campbelltown Mall on Queen St at 8.15am. The service will follow the march at 9.00am to Mawson Park at which a service will be held. Children need to wear their full winter school uniform. Our school will also have an ANZAC service on Wednesday 27 April.
Wedding celebration
Our school community congratulates Miss Duncan (teacher of Year 4) on her recent wedding held at the Chapel at Mater Dei, Camden at which Fr Feleki was the celebrant. We wish Emily and Cam the very best as they embark on their married life together.
End of Term/Staff Professional Development Days
You are reminded that Term 1 for the students concluded today. Staff will have a Professional Development Day tomorrow.
The other Staff Professional Development Days (Pupil Free days) for this year will be:
- Monday 5 June
- Friday 22 September
- Monday 18 & Tuesday 19 December
I would like to pass on my thanks to all parents and carers for your support during this term as we work together to bring about growth in faith and learning for your children.
Wishing you a holy and blessed Easter and a safe holiday period.
