Deputy Principal Report
TERM 2 CLASS CAPTAINS
It is wonderful to be recognised for leadership qualities. We have had many students from years 1 - 6 recognised for such qualities by their peers and teachers. We will congratulate these children who have been selected as Class Captains for this term and look forward to providing opportunities in which they can demonstrate their leadership skills.
These students will be provided with their badge on Monday, 8 May (Week 3) at the morning assembly. We will inform parents via Compass before Friday, 5 May of who our Term 2 Class Captains are, so you might be available to grab a photo and see your child receive their badge.
We are confident that our student leaders will be great examples for others and demonstrate our Good Samaritan values.
ATHLETICS CARNIVAL REMINDERS
Some more important information regarding the smooth running of our Athletics Carnival this Friday, 5 May.
Parents and Carers will need to access the athletics track via Pembroke Road only. Please note the pedestrian gate from the commuter car park has been permanently closed due to safety concerns.
One of the Council rules is that no prams are allowed onto the athletics track or field. All parents/carers with prams must stay behind the black fence.
A message went out earlier asking parents to remain behind the black fence at all times. However this is not the case. If your child is participating in activities in the centre of the field (Grassed area), parents and carers will be able to follow their child around to each activity. We would encourage you to bring a camping chair with you should you wish to sit down. Please understand however that the teachers have a duty of care for the children even if you are present. Your child must remain with their class at all times and are not able to walk away with a parent/carer. Teachers need to be able to make sure that students are with them at all times.
If your child is racing on the track or competing in the long jump we require all parents/carers to be behind the black fence for these events.
For health and safety concerns please do not offer food to children other than your own.
When walking across the track, please be mindful of any races that may be taking place at that time.
We ask that all students remain till everyone is dismissed at the conclusion of the carnival.
We are looking forward to this special day for our school community.
FABULOUS WORK IN YEAR 6
Year 6 completed a post assessment to demonstrate their learning in History about the declaration of human rights. Some outstanding learning was demonstrated across the grade. Below are two examples. Congratulations to Anna and Isabella in 6 Red for their high quality work presented.
