Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
Risen Lord, the joyful message of Easter is that suffering and death were not the end.
Draw me in, dear Lord, to Your suffering and death so that I may also be drawn into the glory of Your Resurrection.
Give me the courage You had as You endured so much. Help me to face the crosses in my life with Your strength.
As I do, fill me with hope as I anticipate the new life You will bring. Amen.
While it may seem some time ago that we celebrated Easter, we are still in the Easter Season within the context of the Church. This enables us to realise that Easter is not exclusive to one single day. Easter is worth celebrating year-round. The resurrection story can be told throughout the year, for it is always imbued with a deeper meaning. This story forms the essence of our faith; we know that, in Christ, death can be defeated and give way to everlasting life. By remembering this throughout the year, we can find relief from the burden of worries and problems, as well as finding greater joy in the blessings of everyday life. Christ's resurrection gives us a reason to live not only for today, but to sustain hope in our future, no matter how difficult the circumstances we currently face.
School Athletics Carnival
We are looking forward to our carnival this Friday. Last year we had to battle heavy rain - the forecast looks much more pleasant this time! Please refer to the notifications that have been provided on Compass in recent weeks for all the information about the day. Once again, a day like this relies heavily on parent helpers, so if you are able to support us in any capacity please let our office know. The day promises to be a wonderful community event at which the children get to enjoy activities that they may not regularly attempt.
Student attendance
Did you know that if students miss as little as eight days in a school term, they will have missed a year of education by the time they finish primary school. Our benchmark across the diocese is 95% attendance. You are encouraged to read through the attached factsheet to provide you with information about attendance. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Wishing you a great week,
Paul Moroney
