Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

A Child's Prayer for Grandparents

Dear God, please bless my grandparents.
Thank you for the life they gave my parents
and for the life they give to me.

For the ways they helped me and made me strong, I give thanks.
For the way, they love me no matter what, I rejoice.
For the ways, they have paved the road
that leads me here, I am grateful.

Let them grow in wisdom and joy in life.
Let them find peace and rest from their work.
Let them be healed of every sickness and pain.
And let them see with their own eyes your glory
and the love of their children and grandchildren.

Bless them always.

What a wonderful celebration we had yesterday as we acknowledged our Elders and Grandparents and the important role they play in the children’s lives. In conjunction with NAIDOC Week, we began with a smoking ceremony led by Andrew, our Aboriginal Education Assistant, and a series of Aboriginal dances. This beautifully set us up for the celebration of our Mass in honour of Sts Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus. Our visitors enjoyed a wonderful morning tea, followed by the chance to visit their grandchildren’s classes.

I would like to pass on my thanks to the many parents and grandparents who helped to make the day such a memorable one - those who played a part in the Mass, the many donations of cakes, slices, biscuits etc, and the wonderful group of parents who helped set up, serve and clean up the morning tea. The positive sense of community that was shared yesterday was a testament to everyone who played a part.

P & F Trivia Night

I would like to pass on my thanks to the P & F for organising a very successful Trivia Night last Saturday. It was very well organised (although the questions were quite challenging!) and those who attended helped to make it a fun night. As well as having a good night out, of course fundraising was one of the aims and our school is extremely grateful for the donations of prizes and money that were made from our school and parish community, as well as many businesses in Campbelltown. The artworks created by each of the classes were also a big hit for the Silent Auction.

As mentioned previously, the P & F is donating a significant amount of money toward the construction of a new playground for the children, the construction of which will commence in August.
