Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

God who delights in us, you search us and find us out.

Every thought and feeling, uttered and held in silence

Is known to you and precious to you.

Dwell within us.

Help us discover that you mean us to grow into who we are, and no other.

Shelter us in your protective shadow from those who will not accept us,

Who know us only from the outside.

Give us the peace that passes all misunderstanding, fear and rejection.

Amen

The Parish Sacramental Program for Reconciliation is currently underway, with workshops being held each week to support the children with an understanding of the loving, merciful relationship that God has with each of us. We pray for each of these children and their families as they prepare for this special sacrament.

Staffing Announcement
Following a recent recruitment process, I am please to announce that Miss Emily Costello has been appointed as the new Religious Education Coordinator (REC) at St John's, commencing at the start of 2024. Emily is currently the REC at Holy Cross Catholic Primary School, Helensburgh and we look forward to her joining our community.
Mrs Lesley Aliphon, one of our Middle Leaders, has been appointed as Middle Leader at St Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Paddington from the start of next year. Having worked at St John's for six years, Lesley has decided to build upon her experience in another school setting, and was also seeking to work closer to home. We will certainly miss Lesley's dedication to her work and her capacity to bring out the best in the students. A recruitment process for a new Middle Leader will now commence.
P & F Meeting
The final P & F Meeting of the year will be held next Wednesday 15 March starting at 9.00am. The P & F has provided great support this year by organising many fundraising and social events, and with providing funds that went toward our new playground. Joining the meeting is a great way to support the work they do, to meet other parents and to keep up to date with happenings at school. An option to join the meeting via Zoom will be provided.
Congratulations
This weekend, Miss Chantelle Davidson, one of our classroom teachers, will be celebrating her wedding. We congratulate Chantelle and her fiance, and wish them both the very best for their life ahead.
Wishing you a great week,

Paul Moroney
