Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
Lord Jesus,
You opened the eyes of the blind,
healed the sick,
forgave the sinful woman,
and after Peter's denial confirmed him in your love.
Listen to my prayer:
forgive all my sins,
renew your love in my heart,
help me to live in perfect unity
with my fellow Christians
that I may proclaim your saving power
to all the world.
We have had several children in our school participating in the Parish Sacramental program for Reconciliation. They have now completed their four-week program of instruction and next week will have the opportunity to experience the sacrament for the first time.
The whole power of the sacrament of Reconciliation (or Penance as it is also known) consists in restoring us to God’s grace and joining us with him in an intimate friendship. Reconciliation with God is thus the purpose and effect of this sacrament. The sacrament of Reconciliation with God brings about a true “spiritual resurrection,” and restoration of the dignity and blessings of life.
I pray that the children from our school participating in this sacrament are able to experience this special connection with God and come to realise that a process of self-reflection can have a significant and positive effect on our capacity to repair relationships with others.
