Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
Today our students had the opportunity to purchase gifts for the special men in their lives at our annual P&F Father’s Day Stall. We are grateful for the efforts of all those who worked hard and assisted to bring this annual event to fruition.
Father’s Day can be a useful time for all men to reflect on what it means to be a father or to have a fatherly influence on children. Social commentators often remark that the art of fatherhood has been lost in the modern era. The media continues to present fathers as the less capable and less responsible half of the parenting team. Childcare often becomes the domain of mothers, and fathers have often been reduced to ‘income-providers.’
Christian fathers can never accept any reduction in the importance of their role. Guided by their faith, they should wish to take their vocation as a father seriously. Fatherhood is a gift from God, and with this great gift comes great responsibility. Yet, although being a responsible father requires hard work, there are great rewards to be gained.
The following reflection, captures the many and varied men who may carry the title of father, all of whom we celebrate and give thanks for this coming Sunday.
Let us use Father's Day to let the special men in our lives know the unique place they have in our lives and the valuable influence they have on us.
Enjoy the week ahead in peace and joy and most especially to all those in our community who hold the title ‘Father’ - Happy Father’s Day!Today, your child will be bringing home an envelope that contains important information for logging into the COMPASS system and receiving important updates from the school.
This COMPASS system will be replacing the SkoolBag notifications and SkoolBag will no longer be available to parents from the end of Term 3.
Today, parents will receive information about downloading the COMPASS App onto their device so that they are able to receive up-to-date information about school events and important information.
Please take the time to use this log in information to set up the COMPASS App.
We will be holding important parent workshops in the Tiered Learning Space, facilitated by Catholic Education Office Staff next week on Tuesday 3rd September. One will be held for parents who drop off their children at 8:30am and again at 9:15am after assembly and the other at the end of the day at 2:30pm.
We will also have another workshop on Thursday 5th September at 2:30pm. It would be great to put these dates into your calendar. These workshops will greatly assist parents in effectively accessing and using the Compass App.
