Principal's Report

Dear Parents/Carers,

Lord, as we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, give us a vision.

Move us by your Holy Spirit. Bring good news to us all.

Open our eyes to see you as you are, and open our hearts to praise you.

Give us a vision that will take us out of our comfort zones and lead us into new ways of serving you.

Help us to be agents of your love to all people in a world where there is much division and hate.

Help us to be beacons of hope. Help us to be agents of your peace in a world that is torn apart by conflict and wars.

Give us a vision through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

This Sunday is a particularly significant celebration in our church, Pentecost Sunday. This feast helps us to recall the time when the Apostles were given the gifts of the spirit to be able to spread the Gospels around the world. In essence, Pentecost Sunday is like the 'birthday' or our church. As recorded in scripture, it was the moment when the apostles and disciples became gifted with the courage and conviction to be a follower of Christ, often at risk of their own lives.

Two thousand years later, we can see the fruits of the work of the early disciples. We are now called to be the modern day disciples and to consider our own conviction and capacity to spread the joy of the Gospels through our word and action. Each day, we look to live our own 'Pentecost' by asking the Holy Spirit to be with us.

Last Friday it was wonderful to see so many mums (and other significant women) join the children for afternoon tea as a way of celebrating Mother's Day. I hope that you al enjoyed your day on Sunday and were reminded of the impact you have on the lives of your children.
This Friday we look forward to our Athletics Carnival. The weather certainly looks more favourable than last week! The change of venue this year is due to the athletics centre at Leumeah not having any availability for us. Regardless, at Narellan we have access to all the resources needed for the same events and activities and it promises to be a fun and busy day for the children. This is one event in which we rely on parent volunteers so in advance I thank those who are able to assist on the day.

Wishing you a safe and blessed week,
