Deputy Principal Report
‘TELL THEM FROM ME’ SURVEY
By the end of next week, it is hoped that students in Years 4-6, teachers and parents will have provided feedback on their experience of our school using an online survey. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process for improvement.
As mentioned in last week’s newsletter and on Compass, we would like to invite you to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. We value the role of parents and carers within our school community and would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and wellbeing at St John the Evangelist, Campbelltown.
The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You are able to access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device by using the URL below:

The survey will close on Friday, 24 May 2024. We thank you in anticipation of your ongoing support.
PARENT COMMUNICATION MEETING
On Wednesday, 29 May at 6pm, we invite parents and carers to attend an information evening regarding communication between school and home. It will be held in the Tiered Learning Space. The meeting will outline the data received from surveys and the plan moving forward with the use of See Saw.
If you would like to attend please RSVP via the school office in person, via phone or email- info@sjctdow.catholic.edu.au
TERM 2 CLASS CAPTAINS
It is wonderful to be recognised for leadership qualities. We have had many students from years 1 - 6 recognised for such qualities by their peers and teachers. We congratulate those children who have been selected as Class Captains for this term and look forward to providing opportunities in which they can demonstrate their leadership skills.
We are confident that our student leaders will be great examples for others demonstrating our Good Samaritan values and ‘Walking in Peace and Joy’. Their names are below:

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL Our Athletics Carnival is being held this Friday, 17 May, at the Narellan Sports Hub.
Information for parents and carers about the organisation of the day and events can be accessed via Compass.
A reminder that students will need to wear their sports uniform with their St John’s hat. They are encouraged to wear a coloured shirt (VAUGHAN green, POLDING blue, ST JOSEPH red, THERRY yellow). Please ensure that all items are labelled with your child’s name. Students may bring a small backpack that has their name on it, to store their belongings in for the day.
Unfortunately, there are NO CANTEEN FACILITIES at Narellan Sports Hub, so students will need to have their own packed lunch with plenty of water for the day. No food is allowed inside the boundary fence.
There will be a coffee van ( Deja Brew )onsite for most of the day
We are looking forward to another wonderful whole school event!
MOTHERS DAY LITURGY & PICNIC
On Sunday, 12 May we celebrated Mother's Day. We are thankful for our mothers, grandmothers, aunts and all those women who love and care for us.
On Monday, 13 May, our school celebrated with a Mother’s Day Liturgy as part of our Morning Assembly. It was a special opportunity for the important women in the lives of our students to join us in a whole school celebration.
Thank you to the Year 4 Teachers and Students for leading us in a beautiful liturgy. The prayers were heartfelt and the closing hymn was performed beautifully.
