Principal's Report
Lord Jesus,
Bless the children coming forward to receive Holy Communion for the first time.
May this day be an initial step into a life-long love of the Eucharist.
Give them a hunger for this sacred food so that they turn to You for comfort, guidance, and wisdom as they grow into full discipleship.
May their eagerness to receive Your Body and Blood inspire all of us to cherish this Sacred Sacrament.
Amen.
Dear Parents/Carers,
This Sunday several of our students from Years 3-6 will be receiving Holy Communion for the first time. To coincide with the Feast of Corpus Christi (the body and blood of Christ), each year our Parish celebrates this special sacrament. Receiving the Holy Eucharist is considered one of the greatest expressions of our faith - it brings to life the command that Jesus gave to ‘do this in memory of me” and it helps us to feel that he is truly alive within us. As adults we know that our own First Holy Communion becomes a milestone in our lives, one which we use as a marking point for when our relationship with Jesus and our connection to the church has the chance to flourish. In wonder if we still receive communion with the same excitement and awe that we did on that very first occasion?
Sincere thanks go to Fr John and Fr Richard, Miss Costello, our Religious Education Coordinator, the Parish Sacramental Team and the school staff who helped in preparing the students and organising the sacrament this weekend. Please keep the students and their families in your prayers.
