Deputy Principal Report
SCHOOL PRIDE HOUSE COMPETITION
In Week 10, our School Pride House Competition will be awarded to the students who have collected the most tokens for their house by consistently wearing the correct uniform and participating in Waste Free Wednesday this term.
The winning house will be announced on Monday, 23 September via Compass and at Tuesday morning’s assembly. The reward will take place on Wednesday, 25 September. On this day students from the winning house will be rewarded with a mufti day and Zooper Dooper.
CHRISTMAS STORY ART COMPETITION
Some of our Stage 3 students have been demonstrating their creativity and talents this term completing their pieces of the Christmas Story Art Competition. Ms Polsen has worked with the students in supporting them to create their artworks. We wish those students who were selected the very best of luck in this competition across the Wollongong Diocese.
BASKETBALL GALA DAYS
On Thursday, 19 September & Friday, 20 September, we will have teams from Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6 respectively, representing St John’s at the Western Region Basketball Gala Day. We wish the students the very best on the Court and encourage them all to be safe, responsible, organised and respectful. But most importantly to have fun!
The day is non-competitive to cater for children of all abilities. Teams have been selected based on preferences given by children earlier in the year. The aim is to give everyone an opportunity to participate, regardless of skill or ability.
We look forward to finding out all about the Gala Day after the event. A special thank you to Ms Glen (Thursday), Mrs Lucas (Thursday & Friday) & Mr Zamroz (Friday) for supporting the students at the Gala Day. We also thank the parents and carers in
anticipation of their support on the day.
