OPENING SCHOOL MASS

Our school community gathered in joyful anticipation on Friday, 21 February, to mark the beginning of the new academic year with an uplifting Opening School Mass. The occasion was an opportunity to highlight the Jubilee Year with the theme, ‘Pilgrims of Hope’. We will continue to refer to our Jubilee Year with students and parents throughout the year.

The Mass provided an opportunity to welcome new students, families, and staff members into the St. John's community, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion. This was highlighted after communion, when the new members of our community stood as we sung, ‘Welcome to the family’.

The Opening School Mass, led by Fr John, served as a powerful reminder of the values and principles that underpin the St. John's, Campbelltown community. It was a time for students, staff, families and carers to come together in prayer and to seek guidance and blessings for the year ahead.

We also acknowledged our Year 6 Student executive (School captains, Vice captains & House captains) and leadership teams at the end of the Mass. Our senior students received their badges and recited their commitment pledge in front of the community.

Thank you to Miss Costello for coordinating our Opening School Mass. Thanks also to the enrichment choir, readers and eucharistic ministers for their involvement in the liturgy.

SCHOOL OPEN DAY

We invited families interested in enrolling their children at St John’s to a special Open Day on Wednesday, 26 February.

It was an opportunity to showcase our facilities, programs, and ethos to potential students and their families. Our Year 6 student leaders and ex-students currently in Year 7, did a wonderful job providing tours of the school. On the tour, our families were given a special passport to visit significant spaces to highlight what our school offers.

After the tour there was a special morning tea and hospitality organised by our P & F Association. We hope our Open Day will result in future enrolments for the 2026 school year.

LEFT HAND TURN ONLY WHEN LEAVING CHURCH CAR PARK

Just a reminder that after dropping your children off in the morning that it is a left hand turn only when leaving the Church Car Park. Unfortunately some people are attempting to turn right.

Left hand turn only is to assist with the flow of traffic in Cordeaux Street and for the safety of our community.

Thank you in anticipation of demonstrating respect for others during the morning 'Kiss and Drop'.

WESTERN SYDNEY REGIONAL SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Several students have been selected to represent St John’s at the Western Region Swimming Carnival, to be held on Thursday, 27 February at The Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre, Bradbury

The students qualified for this event at our Swimming Carnival held at the end of 2024. We wish them all the very best for tomorrow and know that we will be supporting them all in spirit on the day.
