NATIONAL SORRY DAY
National Sorry Day is held on the 26 May each year, where we pause to honour the strength and resilience of the Stolen Generations.
The purple Native Hibiscus flower is often used as a symbol for National Sorry Day. It represents the resilience and survival of the Stolen Generations and its association with compassion and spiritual healing.
On Wednesday Ms Janelle and Miss Polsen, along with our Year 6 Indigenous students, attended the Sorry Day Service at Minto.
Saying sorry is just the beginning.
Reconciliation is ongoing work grounded in action, empathy and shared responsibility.
ACU STUDENTS TO BEGIN THEIR TEACHER PLACEMENT IN COMING WEEKS
This term we welcome five students from the Australian Catholic University who are completing their Teacher Placement at St John’s. These students are currently completing their degree in Primary Education. It is crucial that opportunities like this one are provided for the next generation of Primary School Educators. We welcome them and hope they learn lots while being part of our special community.

THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD
This Sunday, 1 June, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. This important feast commemorates Jesus' bodily ascent into heaven, forty days after his resurrection. It marks the culmination of his earthly ministry and his return to the Father, from whom he sent the Holy Spirit to his disciples. It's a powerful reminder of Christ's triumph and the hope of eternal life for us all. We encourage you to discuss with your children the meaning of Jesus going to heaven and what it means for us as His followers.
