Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the gift of your amazing love.
You are God our Father, who created us and cares for us.
You are Jesus, your Son, who saved us and shows us the way.
You are the Holy Spirit, who lives in our hearts and guides us every day.
Help us to feel your presence in our lives, and to share your love with everyone we meet. Amen.
Dear Parents and Carers,
This Sunday, we celebrate Trinity Sunday, a special day that reminds us of the core of our Catholic faith: God is one, but also three divine Persons – Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit.
It's a big mystery, even for adults. But for our children, it's about understanding God's immense and active love in all its forms:
- God the Father: Our loving Creator who made everything and cares for us.
- God the Son (Jesus): God who became human to show us the Father's love, teach us, and save us.
- God the Holy Spirit: God's presence alive in our world and in our hearts, guiding and strengthening us every day.
Trinity Sunday reminds us that God is not far away, but constantly with us, surrounding us with His perfect love. It's a love story of communion and relationship.
Let's continue to help our children see and feel God's amazing love in their lives, in creation, and in each other.
Healthy eating
At school, lunchtime and snack breaks are more than just opportunities to refuel; they are vital moments that significantly impact a child's learning, energy levels, and overall well-being. The food our children eat directly influences their ability to concentrate in class, participate actively in sports and activities, and even regulate their emotions.
Healthy eating at school is crucial for:
- Enhanced Learning and Concentration: A well-nourished brain is a focused brain. Foods rich in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables provide a steady supply of energy and essential nutrients that support cognitive function, memory, and concentration. Sugary snacks, on the other hand, can lead to energy crashes and difficulty focusing.
- Sustained Energy Levels: Active children need sustained energy throughout the day. Healthy lunches and snacks provide the fuel needed to run, play, and engage in all school activities without feeling sluggish or tired.
- Stronger Immune System: A balanced diet strengthens a child's immune system, helping them to fight off illnesses. This means fewer sick days and more time learning and playing with their friends.
- Positive Behaviour and Mood: What we eat can significantly impact our mood. Nutrient-rich foods help stabilize blood sugar levels, contributing to more consistent energy and better emotional regulation.
- Developing Lifelong Habits: By encouraging healthy eating habits at school, we are helping our children develop a positive relationship with food that will serve them well throughout their lives. We are teaching them to make mindful choices that honour their bodies as God's gift.
We encourage you to pack lunches and snacks that include:
- Plenty of fruits and vegetables: Think colourful arrays of apple slices, carrot sticks, grapes, and berries.
- Whole grains: Sandwiches on wholemeal bread, crackers, or pasta.
- Lean protein: Slices of lean meat, cheese, eggs, or legumes.
- Dairy or alternatives: Yoghurt or cheese sticks.
- Water: The best drink for hydration! Please encourage your child to bring a reusable water bottle.
Let's work together to ensure our children are well-nourished, enabling them to thrive in every aspect of their school life. By making healthy choices, we are not only supporting their physical development but also nurturing their spiritual growth, helping them to appreciate and care for the wonderful gift of their bodies.
