Principal Report
Lord,
As we welcome the new season of spring, we thank You for the gift of new life. We see Your love reflected in the blooming flowers, the greening trees, and the longer, sunnier days.
Help us to embrace this time of renewal in our own lives and in our school community. We pray for our children, that they may grow in faith and knowledge. Bless our teachers and staff with patience and wisdom as they nurture the minds and hearts of our students.
May we, as parents, be a source of encouragement and support, helping our children to flourish in Your grace. Let us remember that every day is a chance for a new beginning, to learn, to forgive, and to love more deeply.
We ask all this through Christ, our Lord.
Amen
Dear Parents/Carers,
This year one of our goals as part of our School Strategic Improvement Plan (SSIP) is to promote growth in reading for all students. A key strategy in supporting student growth is a targeted reading group, generally made up of about five students who have similar reading abilities and goals. These groups are facilitated by the classroom teacher and run for approximately 15 minutes per group. The focus for the group each time they meet is based on data and information gathered from previous sessions, so that there is progressive improvement. During this term, teachers have had the opportunity to observe each other so that they can refine their teaching practices, thus ensuring the students are being provided with a quality learning experience.
Data is regularly collected to provided evidence of growth, and in Term 4 our students will complete a standardised assessment so that we can track their improvement in reading. We look forward to sharing results with you.
Colour Run
As has been advertised via our Newsletter and Compass, the P & F has organised a Colour Run for Friday 26 September. This is their major fund-raiser and community event for 2026, and it will require a significant number of helpers on the day. It promises to be a fun community event, as well as being an opportunity to raise funds for the P & F as they support the purchase of reading resources and playground equipment.
Please refer to the information about the day that has been provided via Compass. As has been mentioned, all children need to be given permission to attend via the "Event" on the Compass app, regardless of them being registered to fund-raise.
We look forward to a great day.
Wishing you a blessed week,
Paul Moroney
