Principal's Report
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
I recently read a story about a statue of Jesus in a European village that had been knocked over during World War II. After the war, the people of the village returned the statue to its normal place and noticed that its hands were missing. Rather than replace them, a decision was made to leave the statue as a permanent reminder that we are Christ’s hands in the world, we must be responsible for doing His work in the world.
This is a great message for children to hear as they can connect very easily to the concept of ‘doing things for others.’ Indeed, when I observe the children at school, I see so many examples of them going out of their way to do something for someone else – it comes very naturally for them.
‘Meet and Greet’
Thank you to the parents who took advantage of the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher during this week for a ‘Meet and Greet’ meeting. I encourage you to maintain this connection with the teacher during the course of the year to ensure we are all supporting your child with their learning.
Arranging a teacher meeting
If you need to meet with your child’s teacher, please be conscious of the fact that immediately before and after school our staff are often engaged in our own meetings, as well as the planning and preparation that is required for their class. A teacher may not be able to meet with you straight away and trying to 'catch them on the run' can distract them from their suprvisory role of looking after the children. Therefore, the best way to arrange an appointment is to contact the school office via phone or email. Please leave some options of dates and times that suit you, and indicate whether an appointment over the phone would suit you as well.
I hope that you have a great week,
