Assistant Principal's Report
Home and School Communication
Positive communication between families and schools is necessary for our students' success. Research shows that the more parents and teachers share information with each other about a student, the better equipped both will be to help that student achieve academically.
At St John’s we aim to communicate with parents with:
- Parent meet & greet conferences
- Mid and end of year parent conferences
- Parent & Friends Association meetings
- Newsletters
- Parents are able to request a meeting with their child’s teacher through the office via email or in person
- Parents are able to contact the office to request that their child’s teacher phone them
- Various social events eg Grandparents Day, Catholic Schools Week (open classrooms)
We value our parent’s questions and concerns and therefore we ask that you avoid asking teacher’s questions in the line or at their classroom door, as during this time they are responsible for the supervision of all the children.
We are also committed to contacting and working with parents if we have concerns for your child. As parents, you are the experts of your child, so always feel that you can speak with us to share information or if you have a query about your child.
Thank you for your continued efforts and working together for our students!!
Enjoy your week.
