Remote Learning
As we move more strategically into a model of Remote Learning from the start of next week, we refer you to two letters that were sent via Compass this week (see below). Some significant points of which to be aware are:
- we are all, teachers and parents, are doing the best we can for the children under difficult circumstances. We are all in this together!
- all students, whether they are at school or at home, will have access to the same Remote Learning resources.
- teachers will post a learning grid (on Seesaw for K-Year 2 and on Google classrooms for Years 3-6) at the start of each week.
- teachers will also post a video each day on these platforms to support the children with their learning.
We know that some of the children have made some attempts this week to complete some of their work while they have been at home. It is certainly a different world to what we have been used to. Just as your children are adjusting, so are we as their teachers. We have loved seeing the work the students (with your guidance - well done to you!) have been creating. We have greatly enjoyed seeing their beautiful smiling faces and hearing their happy voices. They have brightened our day and made the distance a little easier to manage!
If your child is working through a workbook rather than posting on Seesaw or Google Classrooms - keep going! You are able to take photos of your child's work and email them to us so that we can keep track of their progress and support them if necessary. If for some reason, your child is experiencing issues or having difficulty accessing the remote learning tasks, please contact your child's teacher so that we can support you moving forward. Although our operation is now a combination of school and remote, we are still here to continue to support your child's learning and overall well-being. We are also mindful of the challenges that you as their parent or carer may be experiencing in your new role as learning partner, so please reach out if you need support.
