Counsellor's Corner
Acts of Kindness
This term has seen the school students at St Johns involved in an Acts of Kindness initiative. Each class has a kindness jar were students can record any act of kindness they have done, or witnessed. These acts include being kind to other students, teachers, and themselves The students have embraced this initiative and in just a short period of time have completed over 1000 Acts of Kindness across the school. The students have learnt that kindness not only helps other but also helps to build their own self–esteem and resilience and inspire other students to be kind, creating a school community that is welcoming and enjoyable for all. With our goal to create a chain of Kindness around the school by the end of the year we are on way!
During the school holidays is great time to be continuing to carry on Acts Of Kindness in the home. A great way for parents to engage in conversations about what kindness is either read a book or watching a movie with your child that has a kindness message.
