Dear Parents/Carers,
"God our Father, we know that you love and care for us. Thank you for bringing us together again after lockdown. We pray that we will continue to grow in faith and love. We pray that our minds and hearts will be open to the friendships and opportunities that we meet along the way. We ask God to bless us and keep us safe during our time at school."
After 13 school weeks, we now have our wonderful school community back to face-to-face learning! What a joy these first few days have been. To have the sounds of the children at school once again has been a delight. While remote learning still enabled some connections between the children and their teachers, nothing can replace the impact that being face-to-face has on this vital relationship.
Of course, the one thing that is now missing is the opportunity for you, the parents and carers, to get more involved at school. Hopefully, once it is deemed safe enough to do so, these opportunities will return once restrictions ease.
World Teachers Day
This Friday, 29 October, schools across Australia acknowledge World Teachers Day. Your child may like to create a thank you card, personal note or drawing for their teacher as a simple way of acknowledging the care and dedication they show to their work.
Afternoon Pick-Up
The procedures that we have in place for the afternoon pick-up are to ensure we are following the COVID-safe directive that schools must not allow parents to congregate on the school site. Therefore we ask you to be mindful of the following:
* Once you collect your child, please leave the school site promptly
* Years 3-6 will be dismissed from 3.00pm, so you are asked to not enter the school grounds until 3.00pm
* If you have children in classes spread across Kinder-Year 6, it is best that you wait until at least 3.00pm to collect all of your children.
Thank you for the support that you have been showing for these changes.
Wishing you a safe and happy week,
Paul Moroney

Class Formation Groupings 2022
The process of class formation for 2022 has now commenced. This process involves the current class teachers preparing draft lists for next year's classes. This process takes into consideration the academic, social, emotional and physical needs of each individual student. Decisions are made to establish balanced, equitable class groups with the potential to work well together. As the teachers know the students within the school environment exceptionally well, the best interests of each individual student is always considered during the discernment process.
Parents are invited annually to contribute to the process of class formation by informing us in writing of any needs that may impact on class placement. Written requests could be submitted either through the class teacher or via this link.
All requests need to be made by Friday 12th November 2021.
It is important to note that whilst parental requests are considered, there is never a guarantee that these requests will be granted. If parents make a request, particularly about their child being placed within a friendship group, please be aware that there may be circumstances surrounding such requests that may prevent it from being granted.

Uniforms
Children are reminded that when they return to school this term, they are asked to wear their full Summer uniform.
We just remind you that when getting your child’s hair cut,
please refer to our uniform policy. The policy states:
- Hair should be styled in a manner that attracts positive comments only, with an emphasis on a neat and tidy appearance. No extreme haircuts or styles.
- Minimal products (e.g. hairspray, gel) may be used to tame or control hair, but not to style (e.g. spike) hair.
- Hair must not be bleached or dyed in any way, this includes the addition of hair extensions, hair pieces or coloured braids.
- Hair, including fringes, must not fall on a child’s face, covering their eyes.
- Students’ hair cannot be unevenly shaved, including having any lines shaved into their head. Hair should not be shaved less than a number 3.
- Hair that is collar length or longer must be tied back.
- Girls may use school coloured hair accessories (red, navy/royal blue, golden yellow). Hair accessories can include: ribbons, scrunchies, thin headbands or plain clips to hold hair back.
- Hair should be cut in an evenly cut manner. Hair should not have an extreme difference in length, but rather be of a blended appearance.

Our School Canteen will re-open from Monday 18 October. All orders, including snacks, will need to be placed online via Flexischools. The Canteen will not be open for any over the counter sales as this is the best way to keep our students safe.
Please note that orders will now have to be placed prior to 9am each day to allow for staggered break times.
If you have any further queries please contact the office.

While the children will still have an opportunity to visit the Library as part of their learning, they will not be able to borrow books due to our current restrictions. We will let you know when we will be able to allow them to borrow again.
A number of children will have books from our Library that they borrowed all the way back in Term 2! We ask that you please have a look at home for any library books and have them returned to school as soon as possible.
Thank you.
