It has been a great start to 2022 here at St John the Evangelist, Campbelltown. The students have adapted to various changes positively throughout the term. They certainly deserve a well earned break. The way they have welcomed others, been inclusive, worn the correct school uniform with pride and followed our school values is to be commended.
There have been some wonderful learning experiences taking place in each grade as well. Thank you to the classroom teachers and support staff for everything they have planned and implemented to assist the students with their learning and well being this term.
Thank you also to our parent community. You have been extremely patient and followed the COVID Safety Measures that have been mandated. We are extremely grateful for your continued support and look forward to reconnecting with parents and friends at events in Term 2.
We hope that all students and their families have a happy and safe Easter break and look forward to the beginning of next term.
HOLY WEEK
Holy Week is one of the most significant events of the Liturgical Year. It begins on Palm Sunday, the 6th Sunday of Lent, and finishes at the conclusion of the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday evening. The events of Holy Week are told as a continuous narrative.
On Friday, 8 April, our teachers and students will participate in a Holy Week reflection under the COLA. Each grade has taken on an event of Jesus’ life during Holy Week. The liturgy will be held “in the round”, with the big pole in the middle of the COLA as the centre. We look forward to a prayerful and reflective liturgy to remember this special time in the liturgical life of our Church.

CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL
Yesterday we were able to hold our School Cross Country Carnival under blue skies. It was an outstanding day with all students participating enthusiastically in all events. The encouragement for others was clearly evident, with students cheering on their classmates throughout the day.
Thanks to Mrs Marshall for coordinating a successful carnival. The day went extremely well thanks to the strategic planning of this event.
Thanks also to the teachers and parent helpers for everything they did during the day to help make it such a success. Nothing was too much trouble in ensuring the students had a memorable day.
The Snow Cones were certainly a big hit in the warm weather. Thanks to the P & F for organising this for the children.
After yesterday’s event, we look forward to the Athletics Carnival next term!
TERM 2- PARENTS INVITED BACK TO ATTEND SCHOOL EVENTS
We are so pleased to be able to invite parents back into the school next term to attend school events and celebrations. As you are aware, the moments in your child’s life happen so quickly and being part of those memories is significant.
