Dear Parents/Carers,
Lord Jesus Christ, bless the children who received Holy Communion for the first time. May they continue toward a life-long love of the Eucharist. Give them a hunger for this sacred food so that they turn to you for comfort, guidance, and wisdom as they grow into full discipleship. May their hands, extended in anticipation of your body, inspire all of us to cherish this sacred Sacrament. Amen.
On the weekend, many of our students celebrated their First Holy Communion. In congratulating them, I pray that it was a special day for each of them and their families. I would like to acknowledge Fr John, Fr Feleki, Fr Richard, the Parish Sacramental Team, as well as Mrs Hampton, Mrs Brticevich, Mrs Marten, Miss Duncan, Miss Ryan, Mrs Glen, Miss Titone, Mrs Vazquez and Mr Dahler for their support of the Information Night and Workshops.
We now look forward to supporting the Parish Sacramental program for Confirmation.
Student reports
Before the end of this week, academic reports for students in Years 1-6 will be made available via Compass. We will push out a notification when they are ready to be viewed. Kindergarten students do not receive a report for Semeseter One.
Next week, June 27 - July 1, Parent/Teacher meetings for all children will be held. Details of how you can book an appointment will be provided soon.
The report and interview are an important way for our school to work in partnership with you in order to support your child's learning.
This week I am writing this article while in isolation due to contracting COVID. I look forward to being back at St John's when I am symptom-free.
Wishing you all a happy and safe week,
Paul Moroney

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
On Saturday, 18 June & Sunday, 19 June, many of our Year 3 students made their First Holy Communion. They were all very well prepared to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. We congratulate these candidates, their families, our Parish Priests and the Sacramental Team for the beautiful celebrations over the weekend.
STUDENTS ARRIVING TO SCHOOL ON TIME
Just a reminder that students need to arrive at school before 8:45am when school commences. This is extremely important for children so they can move into class ready for learning at the start of the day. Important messages are also shared that provide information to support their learning and well being.
We understand it can be a challenge on some mornings getting organised for the school day. This is just a reminder for some parents and carers, to ensure that children do arrive at school on time. We thank you for your consideration of this matter.
