Dear parents and carers,
God, please guide our school. Please give the teachers and staff Your wisdom. Please protect the young hearts and minds within. We pray for all children and that You will guide the hands, mouths and actions of everyone. Lord, You always provide, and we ask that You would give us the strength and courage to navigate whatever comes our way. In Jesus' name, Amen.
200 Year Anniversary Mass
I have mentioned in the Newsletter over th last few weeks about a significant Parish celebration on Sunday 28 August to acknowledge the first ever Mass in the Macarthur region and our Diocese in 1822. This celebration will include the following:
- Mass commencing at 10.00am under the school COLA. We will have some students involved in various parts of the Mass.
- food provided by various parish cultural groups. Our P & F will be running a BBQ at which they will need as many helpers as possible.
- entertainment by various groups in the parish, including a group of our students involved in a dance performance.
As a show of support for our parish, you are asked to make every effort to attend this event. If you are able to help with the BBQ, please contact the school office.
Replacement of canteen and student toilets
The Facilities Team at the Catholic Education Office has been supporting a project for our school which will see a replacement of our canteen and student toilets. A Development Application has been put in to Campbelltown Council and sources of funding are being finalised. Once we receive approval from the Council, we will keep you updated. We look forward to building more modern and functional facilities for our students.
Wishing you all a happy and safe week,
Paul Moroney
Principal
MAPLE BEGINS HER WORK AT ST JOHN’S
To the excitement of the community, Maple began last week at St John’s. Last Thursday afternoon she was introduced to every classroom. To the credit of each class, the students supported Maple in making her feel very relaxed during her initial meeting with them.
During the first two weeks of work, Maple is familiarising herself with this new environment and the people that belong to our community. Next week she will begin supporting teachers and students more directly. We look forward to her continued work at our school.
TERM 3 CLASS CAPTAINS
Congratulations to the children below who have been selected as Class Captains for this term. We look forward to providing opportunities in which they can demonstrate their leadership skills in coming weeks.
Our Class Captains for Term 3 received their badge at Monday morning's assembly. We are confident that our student leaders will be great examples for others and demonstrate our Good Samaritan values. The photo below is some of the Class Captains who received their badges at the assembly.

Our school has a 1:1 iPad program to support the learning of the students. This program is in place for students in Years 3-6. In order to provide you with as much information as possible about this program, we are running a meeting next week for you to attend. You have the option to attend in person at school or via Zoom.
There are two days/times from which you can choose:
- Wednesday 3 August at 6.00pm
- Friday 5 August at 1.15pm
The meeting will be held in the Tiered Learning Space (near the Kindergarten classrooms). A Zoom link will be provided via Compass today and again on Friday.
Even if you have older children who are already part of the 1:1 program, you are encouraged to attend as we have now moved to a ‘school-managed’ iPad system since 2021, which may be different to the program with which you are familiar.

Just a reminder that all canteen lunch orders need to be ordered through the Flexi schools app before 9am.
Cut off for lunch orders is 9am, this is to ensure sufficient time for food preparation and proper cooking of food, no lunch orders will be accepted after this time
