PRAYERS FOR MR MORONEY AND HIS FAMILY
Please keep Mr Moroney and his family in your prayers as he grieves the loss of his mother, who passed away last Friday, 14 October. Mr Moroney went up to Tamworth last week to spend time with his mum because she was extremely unwell.
Our parents were the first to love us. They introduce us to the world and show us how to navigate it. They hold our history. And when a parent dies, everything changes. We grieve their loss and so much more. We hope Mr Moroney and his family can find comfort in the love of Christ during this difficult time.
As a result, he has been on leave this week and we welcome our two relieving principals:
Monday & Friday- Mr Walsh
Tuesday-Thursday- Mrs Hadley
TERM 4 CLASS CAPTAINS
As mentioned previously our Term 4 Class Captains will be provided with their badge on Monday, 24 October (Week 3) at the morning assembly. We will inform parents via Compass before Friday, 21 October of who our Term 4 Class Captains are, so you might be available to grab a photo and see your child receive their badge.
We thank the Term 3 Class Captains for their leadership and support last term!
CDF PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION
Over the course of Term 3, the Stage 3 students prepared and participated in the CDF Public Speaking competition at a school level. While at school the students composed and presented a speech selected from a list of topics.
After presentations in class, eight students were selected for our in-house finals which were held in the Hall last Thursday, 13 October. The competition was judged by an impartial adjudicator. From these eight students, Anna Ouhan 5R and Nash Noche 6B were selected to represent St John’s, Campbelltown, at the North West CDF Regional Public Speaking Competition tomorrow. Both Anna and Nash are to be congratulated on this wonderful achievement. The competition is being held at St Paul’s, Camden. We look forward to finding out how they go after the competition.
Thank you to Mr Zamroz for all his work in coordinating our Stage 3 public speaking competition.
MAPLE IS READY TO MINGLE
Thanks to all the students for following the three expectations so well last term. They will remain in place throughout Maple’s time at school.
However, this does mean that the students will be able to have more interactions with Maple this term. She has already spent time in classes and on the playground. The teachers who handle her make sure that students are comfortable with her presence. They also know the students who are not able to be near Maple due to various circumstances noted from the consent survey.
This week Mrs Billett and Mr Williams will be modelling to the students how they are able to engage with Maple.
Happy Birthday to the following students and staff who are celebrating their
birthday this week and through the school holidays ,
