Dear Parents/Carers,
God, may we feel the warm embrace of your love on this sacred day. May the glory of Jesus’s resurrection remind us that with You, nothing is impossible or without hope. We pray in Your name. Amen.
I pray that this Easter is a wonderful time of celebration and renewal for you and your family. I encourage you to find time to join a church celebration, especially to give your children an opportunity to experience a perspective of Easter aside from the chocolates. You are very welcome to join us for a whole school Mass next Tuesday 2 April at 10.00am under the COLA as we conclude the Holy Week story with the children.
Indulging in an Ethical Easter in 2024
Join with the one billion responsible ‘indulgers’ this Easter and watch what chocolate you eat.
Much of the world’s chocolate, including that sold in Australian shops and supermarkets, is produced using cocoa beans harvested by child labourers, many of whom endure enslavement and poor, sometimes dangerous, working conditions. Most are deprived of an education.
This Easter and beyond, you are invited to indulge responsibly, select ethically sourced chocolate and support companies working to eliminate slavery from their supply chains.
“Every person ought to have the awareness that purchasing is always a moral – and not simply an economic – act.” Pope Francis
Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans (ACRATH) is once again encouraging Australians to join the campaign for slavery free Easter eggs and chocolate.

Download the How to Be a Good Egg poster.
Also, consider not buying something that is overly packaged. Lots of Easter eggs come encased in several layers of foil, cardboard and plastic - each of which come with an environmental and often human cost of their own. Remember to recycle your foil…
Wishing you a safe and blessed week,
PARENT COMMUNICATION SURVEY
Today we shared a survey with parents/carers about communication between school and home. We would greatly appreciate your insights into this matter. The link for the survey is also below.
Parent/Carer Communication Survey
As mentioned previously, the data collected will help us to devise a plan for this year which will be implemented next term. This plan will then be evaluated as the year progresses to ensure we meet the right balance in supporting communication about student learning with parents and carers.
HOLY WEEK- STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Holy Week is one of the most significant events of the Liturgical Year. It begins on Palm Sunday, the 6th Sunday of Lent, and finishes at the conclusion of the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday evening. The events of Holy Week are told as a continuous narrative.
This week our school was able to highlight the important events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus with the Stations of the Cross. Our Year 6 Student leaders were outstanding in capturing each station through a combination of movement and freeze frames. Congratulations to the students and teachers in every grade for participating in this journey in prayer so reverently. Special thanks goes to Miss Costello and Ms Johnson for their efforts in coordinating this special prayer for our community.
CHURCH CAR PARK
We should all be aware of the importance regarding the safety of our children and families in the church car park.
As we all know, the church car park serves as a crucial space for dropping-off in the morning and pick-up after dismissal. However, recent observations have raised concerns regarding safety practices, particularly regarding double parking.
Double parking not only obstructs the flow of traffic but also poses significant safety risks for pedestrians, especially children, who may need to navigate between parked vehicles. Additionally, it hampers access to the exit and complicates the movement of other vehicles within the car park.
We respectfully ask parents and carers to please refrain from double parking under any circumstances. If the car park is full upon your arrival, we encourage you to consider alternative parking arrangements in the streets nearby. If you are able to do so perhaps come a little bit after 3pm as there may be spaces available then.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns regarding parking or safety in the church car park, please do not hesitate to contact us.
