YEAR SIX TO CANBERRA
We wish Year 6 well as they travel to the nation’s capital on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th August. I thank the Year 6 teachers, Miss Symons, Mr Astill and Mrs Merrett who are taking time away from their own families in order to attend this overnight excursion. I also thank the parent helpers, Mr Houston and Mr Webb for accompanying the students.
As I will be attending this overnight excursion, we welcome back Mr John Walsh to St John’s as Relieving Principal. Please direct any queries to Mrs Libro, Mrs Billett or Mr Walsh in my absence.
Wishing everyone a great week ahead,
Mrs Jane Webb
Acting Principal

Thank you to Mrs Ayres, Mr Galea, Mr Ross, Ms Thomas, Mr Parcio, Mr Fik and Mrs Fleijsman for coaching the students - the day wouldn’t have been such a success without you and we are so appreciative of your help. Thank you also to the very supportive families and friends who came along to spectate and cheer on our students, as well as Miss Symons, Mr Sly and Miss Cataldi who accompanied the students on the day.

Permission to Photograph Students
On the enrolment form parents are asked to indicate consent to photograph their child as per below:
“I give consent to photographs, visual or audio content, or other identifying material, relating to my child and their “works” as defined in the Copyright Act 1968, being used in hard copy, digital form or online for the promotion and communication of the school and/or Diocese of Wollongong.
This permission, if given, allows the school to use your child’s photograph in formats such as in the classroom, in the newsletter and on the school website or other school promotional materials.
At a Diocesan level photos may be used in promotional materials and/or on the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong Facebook page. The Catholic Education Facebook page is used to share special activities happening in schools across the Diocese such as work/projects in the classroom, fundraising activities and school wide events such as grandparents day or sports carnivals
Photographs and videos are being used more frequently for learning and sharing in digital form and online. If you have any queries about your child’s photograph status or would like to update/change your permission to allow or prevent your child being photographed for these purposes please contact the school office.
