Lord, help students to find physical, mental, and spiritual rest in you, knowing that you are always by their side, guiding and protecting them. As they face challenges, fill them with power, love, and self-control. Keep them steady and sure. Help them not to lose sight of what you have called them to and how you have equipped them. May they feel secure in your perfect love. In Christ’s name. Amen.
Dear Parents/Carers,
From today, Semester 1 student reports for all students will be available on the Compass app. If you need any support in accessing your child's report, please contact our school's office.
I hope you use your child's report as a celebration of what they have been able to achieve. A focus on a positive mindset, which we use with the children, will also enable them to see that there will also be areas in which they can improve, something that is true of everyone.
As happens for all schools across Australia, students in Years 1-6 receive an overall achievement grade for each Key Learning Area (subject). This grade is based on a 5-point scale. Across our diocese, the scale used is 'Extensive, Thorough, Sound, Basic, Elementary.' A grade of 'Sound' is an indication that students are achieving what is expected of them for their Year level in any subject. An 'Extensive' or 'Thorough' grade indicates they are working beyond the expectations, while a 'Basic' or 'Elementary' show they are working towards the expected outcomes. The report also gives you an indication of their work and social habits, as well as some aspects to focus on for next semester.
Students in Kindergarten receive an achievement grade of 'Thorough, Sound, or Basic.'
I would like to acknowledge the work of our teachers in writing the reports. They are very dedicated in ensuring your child's report is an accurate reflection of their progress.
Parent/Teacher meetings
The reports are only one form of communicating with you about your child’s growth in faith and learning. Having the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher is another significant method of working together for the benefit of your child. While this can happen at any time during the year, next week will be an opportunity for you to book an appointment. Details of how to book was pushed out on Compass this week. Please note that meetings will be limited to 10 minutes. If this does not give you or the teacher enough time, you are welcome to schedule a follow up meeting. A Parent Feedback form will be sent home tomorrow to assist you in making some notes about the areas you would like to discuss in relation to the report.
Wishing you a safe and blessed week,
Happy Birthday to the following students and staff who are celebrating their birthday this week 23rd June - 29th June

Stage 1 of our building project is nearly completed. This means the students will have access to new toilets situated near the Year 2 classrooms.
Stage 2 of the project will then commence, which includes demolition of the current canteen and toilets, after which a new canteen and extra toilets will be constructed.
This means there will be the following disruption to our canteen services:
- The canteen will be closed Wednesday 3 - Friday 5 July. This will give time for all of the canteen facilities to be relocated to the kitchen in the hall.
- From the beginning of Term 3, the canteen will only provide food and drink via online orders (Flexischools). There will not be any ‘over the counter’ sales. This arrangement will be in place until the new canteen is constructed, some time during Term 4.
Please note that the menu from the start of Term 3 will need to be adjusted due to the reduced number of available appliances. Further information will be provided about this.
Thank you for your patience and understanding with this. We look forward to having brand new facilities for the children.
Early pick ups should be avoided wherever possible
However if you child has an appointment and needs to be collected prior to 3pm please call the office as early as possible that day and inform us so we can arrange for your child to be ready in the office.
Children cannot be collected during the lunch breaks as it is not possible to locate them at those times (11.15am -11.45 and 1.15-1.50) - please take this into account when planning pick up times.
