Hear my prayer as I continue this Lenten journey with you.
Let me be honest with myself as I look into my heart and soul, noticing the times I turn away from you.
Guide me as I humbly seek to repent and return to your love.
May humility guide my efforts to be reconciled with you and live forever in your abundant grace.
Amen.
We are nearly half way through the season of Lent, a good opportunity to take stock of how we are going and to remind ourselves of the purpose of Lent. We must recall that Jesus never promised that life as His disciple would be full of daily pleasurable experiences. Rather, He taught that the way to abundant life is through the ongoing connection to Him and the detachment from worldly cares and associations like food, money, ego, and laziness. Even if you've stumbled or fallen short, don't lose heart. Lent is a journey, not a race, and God's grace is always available to help us persevere. May God bless you as you move toward the joy of Easter.
Attendance
Supporting your child’s growth and development in faith and learning is enhanced through regular attendance. Our Catholic diocesan system of schools considers 90-100% attendance for all students as ‘regular attendance.’ When calculating your child’s attendance rate, we also include time lost through late arrivals and early departures. Children who are at school for the whole day certainly have better opportunities to engage successfully in all aspects of learning, leading to improvement.
You are reminded to inform the school if ever your child is absent. After three consecutive days of absenteeism without any notification as to the reason, our school is required to contact you. Also, if your child’s attendance rate falls below 90%, one of our staff may be in contact to provide any support that may be needed.
Staff Development Day
As has been mentioned in previous Newsletters, next Monday 31 March is a Staff Professional Development Day. This means that students do not attend school. If you need it, Aspire is running full day care and can be contacted on 0477 702 514.
