Heavenly Father,
On this Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ, we give you thanks for the precious gift of the Eucharist.
May this sacred meal nourish our families, strengthen our children in faith, and unite our school community in your love.
Help us to recognize Christ's presence in one another and to share His love with all we meet. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Dear Parents and Carers,
This Sunday, our Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, often known as Corpus Christi. It's a beautiful occasion for us to reflect on the incredible gift of the Eucharist – the real presence of Jesus Christ, truly present in the bread and wine consecrated at Mass.
The Feast of Corpus Christi also calls us to consider how we carry Christ's presence out into the world. Just as we receive His Body and Blood, we are called to become His Body in the world, living out His love, compassion, and generosity in our families and wider community. How important is this message of love and compassion at the moment in the midst of current conflicts in our world. May this special feast day fill our hearts and homes with a renewed sense of God's tangible love and inspire us to share that love with everyone we encounter.
Parent/Teacher meetings
Next week you will be able to access your child's Semester 1 Academic Report. We will let you know when these will be ready to access. In the following week, you will have the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss aspects of your child's progress. Having teachers and parents working together can have significant positive impact on your child's growth in learning and faith. While a meeting can happen at any time during the year, you are strongly urged to book an appointment for a meeting. Details of how to book will be pushed out on Compass soon. Please note that meetings will be limited to 10 minutes. If this does not give you or the teacher enough time, you are welcome to schedule a follow up meeting. A Parent Feedback form will also be sent home to assist you in making some notes about the areas you would like to discuss in relation to the report.
Staff Development Days for Term 2 & 3
You are reminded of the next Staff Development Day being held this term:
- Friday 4 July (this means the end of Term 2 for the students is Thursday 3 July)
Our Term 3 Staff Development Day (and final one for the year) will be held on:
- Monday 25 August
Students do not come to school on these days.
With every blessing for the week ahead,
Paul Moroney
Principal
PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS
At the end of this week, a Compass message will be shared with parents/carers to select their interview time(s) via our online booking system. Once logged in you will be able to enter your details, choose your teacher, then pick the time available that is most suitable for you.
These interviews are essential for fostering a collaborative environment that supports the student's academic and personal development. It ensures that both parents and teachers are aligned in their efforts to help the student succeed. The half-yearly parent-teacher interviews will take place during Week 10 (30 June-3 July).
SEE SAW
Just a friendly reminder to all parents to regularly check SeeSaw to see your child's amazing work samples. It's a fantastic way to stay connected with their learning journey.
If you need any help at all navigating the SeeSaw app, please don't hesitate to contact your classroom teacher. We will be happy to assist you.
CHURCH CAR PARK- DOUBLE PARKING
We should all be aware of the importance regarding the safety of our children and families in the church car park.
As we all know, the church car park serves as a crucial space for dropping-off in the morning and pick-up after dismissal. Double parking not only obstructs the flow of traffic but also poses significant safety risks for pedestrians, especially children, who may need to navigate between parked vehicles. Additionally, it hampers access to the exit and complicates the movement of other vehicles within the car park.
We respectfully ask parents and carers to please refrain from double parking under any circumstances. If the car park is full upon your arrival, we encourage you to consider alternative parking arrangements in the streets nearby. If you are able to do so perhaps come a little bit after 3pm as there may be spaces available then.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter.
NETBALL GALA DAY
On Thursday, 26 June, we have teams representing St John’s at the Western Region Netball Gala Day. We wish the students the very best on the Netball Court and encourage them all to be safe, responsible, organised and respectful. But most importantly to have fun!
The day is non-competitive to cater for children of all abilities. Teams have been selected based on preferences given by children earlier in the year. The aim is to give everyone an opportunity to participate, regardless of skill or ability.
We look forward to finding out all about the Gala Day after the event. A special thank you to Mrs New who is convening the event for the diocese. We also thank the teachers, parents and carers in anticipation of their support on the day.
SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION: PARENT INFORMATION EVENING

This session will take place in the Church and provide important details regarding the Confirmation program. Key dates and what to expect as your child embarks on this significant spiritual journey will be provided. We highly encourage all parents and carers to attend.
