Monday | 8th June | Queen's Birthday Public Holiday |
Friday | 3rd July | Last day of term |
You are reminded that all whole-school events, such as assemblies, liturgies and sporting events have been cancelled until we are able to have large gatherings.
Dear Parents/Carers,
After two months, it was a heart-warming experience for all of our staff to have the students back at school on Monday. Being able to re-connect with them has given us all a sense of 'normal'. For the next couple of weeks, our focus will be on revisiting our routines and procedures, attending to the well-being of the children, as well as reviewing the tasks that were provided for students during the phase of remote learning.
The most disappointing aspect to our return to school this week is the fact that we have to limit the numbers of adults on our school grounds. This needs to remain in place until we receive notification that we can ease this restriction. I am most grateful to you all for adhering to this restriction thus far.
Pentecost Sunday
This Sunday the church celebrates Pentecost Sunday, a feast that is often referred to as the birthday of the church as it was when the apostles were moved to action in spreading the message of Jesus. It is timely that Fr John is implementing some new procedures to offer Mass this weekend to limited numbers of parishioners. This 'rebirth' of our church opening again after being closed for nine weeks is a wonderful symbol of the Pentecost message. Please see a letter from Fr John in today's Newsletter for further details.
Morning and afternoon procedures
At this stage, the drop-off and pick-up arrangements have been going smoothly. You are reminded that patience is a key factor in ensuring we all keep the children safe as we navigate traffic, parking and pedestrian crossings. After a few months of limited cars on the road, it is now starting to build back up. Please be conscious of this so that you can ensure your child arrives at school on time.
Just a reminder that our current schedule for pick-up is 3.00pm for Kinder-Year 2 (and older siblings) and 3.15pm for Years 3-6.
Keeping our school safe
It is important that we all play our part in keeping our school safe. Therefore, it is important to note that the first symptoms of COVID-19 and flu are similar, in that they both can cause fever, cough, sore/scratchy throat and shortness of breath. Throughout this period, I ask that you keep your child at home if they are unwell. In the event your child is unwell at school the normal processes apply: your child will be cared for at school in the sick bay by a qualified first aid officer, while they await collection from an appropriate parent/guardian/carer.
When the parent/guardian/carer of the student collects their child from school, a letter will be provided to them, which outlines the steps required for the student to be able to return to school. These steps include gaining a medical clearance certificate and only returning to school once the student has fully recovered.
God bless.
First Holy Communion
First Holy Communion classes have started online.
A Compass Notification was sent on Wednesday 13 May indicating the start of this program online. This has also been written up about in the Parish newsletter.
Parents need to enrol as soon as possible at the Parish. When you go to the Parish to enrol, you will also be given your child’s Eucharist Workbook.
All our First Holy Communion Preparation Lessons will be online this year. Your child will need to log into Google Classroom and join the First Holy Communion Google Classroom.
The children will then work through the lessons at their own pace. There will be 4 lessons in total.
Children need their workbook to be able to participate in the lessons.
I am attaching the letter from Father John that was sent on Wednesday 13 May to all parents in Years 3 to 6.
Parents, can I please ask you to go to the Parish to enrol, pick up the Eucharist book and pay the Sacramental fee of $25.
We are also attaching Father John's letter that was sent on 13 May for your information.

Due to COVID restrictions parents are currently not allowed on school grounds. It is important that you let the office know as soon as possible, via email or phone, if you are picking your child up prior to dismissal (including time). We can then arrange to have them in the office ready for you. Please note we are unable to arrange collection of your children during break times (11.15am-12 & 1.15pm-2pm) without prior notice.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter.
