Dear Parents/Carers,
As we continue to deal with the coronavirus in our personal and work lives, I am conscious of the impact that it is having in many different ways. The updated directives for schools that were shared with you yesterday mean some further changes to our practices at St John's to ensure that we are continuing to reduce the risk of infection. I am sure that you agree our aim is to support everyone in NSW so that we do not have an outbreak that has been experienced in Victoria.
I hope the following prayer provides you with some support.
Dear Lord,
At this time of pandemic,
Let us foster respect and solidarity with others, especially those who are weak or poor.
Let us remain calm.
Let us take advantage of living together as a family.
Let us attend to moments of prayer.
Let us cultivate responsibility, patience and hope.
Amen.
School Photos
I would like to pass on my thanks to you all for the way in which you had your children looking their very best in their school uniform for the school photos yesterday. They certainly looked very impressive. I reminded the children this morning that our school uniform is a very obvious expression of our who we are as a school and that the correct uniform should be worn each and every day, not just for school photo day.
You would all be very proud of your children as they were extremely well behaved for the photographers. They commented to me that they were one of the easier groups of children to work with.
Pupil Free Day - Friday 25 September
Please note that the last day of the term for the students is Thursday 24 September. Staff will be participating in a Spiritual Formation Day on Friday 25 September, so children do not come to school that day.
Wishing you a safe week.
God bless.

If your child is away from school it is important to let the school know as soon as possible with a specific reason, e.g. what type of illness they have, If you are filling in a note on the Compass app, please add an explanation in the details/comments box .
It is really important to keep your child at home if they are unwell, this will help with the spread of illness. In the current COVID 19 climate ,It is preferrable that you get a medical clearance for your child to return to school
If your child has a covid test, please notify the school when they have the test and as soon as you get your results please forward these on to the school.
Due to COVID restrictions parents are currently not allowed on school grounds. We also need to limit the amount of visitors that come into the office, so please only come into the office if necessary.
It is important that you let the office know as soon as possible, via email or phone, if you are picking your child up prior to dismissal (including time). We can then arrange to have them in the office ready for you. Please note we are unable to arrange collection of your children during break times (11.15am-12 & 1.15pm-2pm) without prior notice. Please do not enter late arrivals or early departures into compass, this needs to be done by the school office.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter.
