Dear Parents/Carers,
Next week our school will be having a focus on 'Well-being' to coincide with RUOK Day on 10 September. Especially during this time of having to follow so many restrictions, it is particularly important that we keep an eye out for anyone who may be experiencing some difficulty in coping. Having our children play a part in this will help to educate them in being aware of others and to offer them support. This matches very well to our Good Samaritan value of 'listening.'
On Thursday 10 September, the children are able to come to school dressed in mufti yellow (the colour of RUOK Day), or bright, cheery coloured clothes. Also, each student will be given a 'Positive Self-Talk Journal' to work through during Mindfullness each day next week.
We encourage you to talk about the meaning behind RUOK Day with your children. Their website (https://www.ruok.org.au/) is a good source of information for you.
Change of uniform
With the weather starting to change, from now until the end of term, children are able to wear either the summer or winter school uniform. Please do not send them in a combination of both (eg long pants with short sleeved summer shirt).
From the start of Term 4, all children will need to be wearing the summer school unifrom.
Father's Day Stall
Once again I would like to pass on my thanks to the P & F for providing the children with the opportunity to purchase a gift for dad. Just a reminder that gifts will be delivered to the school for the children to take home. Please contact the office if you need to make alternate arrangements to get the gift home.
For all our dads, I offer this prayer:
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it ... Dad
Wishing you a safe week.
God bless.

Of an afternoon there is no kiss and drop/pick up area in the car park, Parents must park in the designated car spots and walk into the school to collect their children,
thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this
If your child is away from school it is important to let the school know as soon as possible with a specific reason, e.g. what type of illness they have, If you are filling in a note on the Compass app, please add an explanation in the details/comments box .
It is really important to keep your child at home if they are unwell, this will help with the spread of illness. In the current COVID 19 climate ,It is preferrable that you get a medical clearance for your child to return to school
If your child has a covid test, please notify the school when they have the test and as soon as you get your results please forward these on to the school.
Due to COVID restrictions parents are currently not allowed on school grounds. We also need to limit the amount of visitors that come into the office, so please only come into the office if necessary.
It is important that you let the office know as soon as possible, via email or phone, if you are picking your child up prior to dismissal (including time). We can then arrange to have them in the office ready for you. Please note we are unable to arrange collection of your children during break times (11.15am-12 & 1.15pm-2pm) without prior notice. Please do not enter late arrivals or early departures into compass, this needs to be done by the school office.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter.
