Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back to Term 2. The children have started back at school very positively and looking like they had a good chance to recharge the batteries! I hope that your family had a blessed Easter and that, if you had the chance to have some time away from work over the last two weeks, you were able to relax and unwind a little.
Although Easter has been and gone, the Church is still in the season of Easter up until Pentecost Sunday (23 May). This is an acknowledgement of the time that Christ spent with his followers following the Resurrection. These 'extra' weeks of Easter also help us to hold on to the joy of the season. I pray that the spirit of the risen Lord stays with you in your daily actions and as you interact with others.
Parish First Communion
Many of our students will soon commence the program to support them in receiving their First Holy Communion. We wish them and their families every blessing as they engage in this significant sacramental program.
Parish carpark
Thank you to the parents who have reduced their reliance on the Parish Carpark in the afternoon. As mentioned in the previous Newsletter, we have had many parents and carers who drive into the parish carpark in the hope of finding a park, even though there are very few parks available. When children are walking through this area, it poses a safety risk to have a lot of cars driving through this space, some of them double-parking.
It is strongly recommended that you find a park on the streets. If you are walking with your children, please be mindful of holding their hand and walking in safe areas away from the driveway.
We appreciate how difficult it can be to find a park close to the school. This difficulty is shared in many school communities, as there are very few schools that have a dedicated carpark for parents to use. Of course, safety of the children is our number one priority.
Wishing you a safe week,
Happy Birthday to the following students and staff who are celebrating

Student Arrival Time
Please be mindful that although playground gates are opened at 8.15am, supervision of students begins at 8.30am. The gates are only opened a few minutes earlier to prevent a build up of students waiting in the car park. Students should not be on the school ground or parish car park prior to this time, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If you require supervision of your child(ren) prior to 8.15am, we suggest you access the before school care, run by Aspire.
Please also be aware that the school office opens at 8.30am.
Disabled Parking
There are four marked disabled parking spaces in the carpark. We ask that these are only used by parents or grandparents displaying a valid disability parking permit. While we can appreciate that it can be difficult finding parking before and after school, there are a number of parents, grandparents and students that require access to these spots. We acknowledge that the vast majority of parents respect these parking spaces are for people displaying a valid permit only, and we thank you for your ongoing support with this.
Often the nature of a person’s disability is not always visible to us. Questioning a person’s disability, when they have a permit on display, is inappropriate and we ask that respect is given to one another at all times.
Birthday Celebration Sharing Restrictions Update
CEO have updated the food sharing policy due to the easing of Covid restrictions. Children are now able to share individually wrapped food items with their classmates on their Birthdays, this would included things like Lollipops, individually wrapped lollies etc.
We also need to be mindful of Children & teachers with food allergies & intolerances
There is still the option of purchasing Zooper Doopers from the canteen, These are now available to purchase through Flexischools lunch 2
Thank you for your understanding with this matter
If your child is away from school it is important to let the school know as soon as possible with a specific reason, e.g. what type of illness they have, If you are filling in a note on the Compass app, please add an explanation in the details/comments box .
Do not enter into compass if they are going to be late or leave early, that needs to be done from the school end.
It is really important to keep your child at home if they are unwell, this will help with the spread of illness. In the current COVID 19 climate ,if you child displays cold/flu symptoms, your child will be sent home and you will need to get a medical clearance and a negative covid result and be symptom free before your child can return to school
If your child has a covid test, please notify the school when they have the test and as soon as you get your results please forward these on to the school.
