Dear Parents/Carers,
How lovely it has been this week to welcome back our Kindergarten and Year 1 students. They have certainly shown that they were ready and excited about being able to reconnect with their friends and teachers. It is wonderful to have the vibrancy and energy that the children bring to our school community.
This week has also been a good test for our new procedures on the playground which limit mingling between grades. We have been very impressed by how the children have understood why these measures are in place and how they have accepted the changes with great maturity.
We now really look forward to welcoming back the children from Years 2-6 next Monday, having all of our school community back together once more.
This is a prayer that you may like to pray with your child:
"Heavenly Father, Help me have the courage I need when returning to school. Help me remember that you are with me. Help me to care for others and use my experience of lockdown to grow. Please be with all the staff at my school, as we face some uncertainty together. Thank you for keeping me safe. Amen."
World Teachers Day
Next Friday, 29 October, schools across Australia acknowledge World Teachers Day. Your child may like to create a thank you card, personal note or drawing for their teacher as a simple way of acknowledging the care and dedication they show to their work.
Wishing you a safe and happy week,
Paul Moroney
Principal
While the children will still have an opportunity to visit the Library as part of their learning, they will not be able to borrow books due to our current restrictions. We will let you know when we will be able to allow them to borrow again.
A number of children will have books from our Library that they borrowed all the way back in Term 2! We ask that you please have a look at home for any library books and have them returned to school as soon as possible.
Thank you.
Kiss and Drop Reminders
The safety of all students must be of the highest priority. When utilising the kiss and drop area of the car park in the morning, we ask that you remember the following:
- Parents must remain in the car at all times.
- Students must exit the car via the left doors only.
- Parents and students must not access the car boot.
- Bags need to be with the students, ready for a quick and smooth exit from the car.
- Students may only exit the car when it has stopped parallel to the kiss and drop sign.
Delays in exiting the car at kiss and drop causes a backup of traffic, not only in the car park, but in the surrounding streets. Please show courtesy to all users by following these procedures.
Mask wearing is one of many safety processes and procedures we are implementing at our school to ensure we are COVID safe. All teachers and staff will be wearing masks . NSW Health are strongly recommending that masks are worn by students in Primary Schools. Our school will be supporting students wearing masks at school as they return over the coming weeks.
Uniforms
Children are reminded that when they return to school this term, they are asked to wear their full Summer uniform.
As the hairdresser reopen next week we know you will be keen to have your child’s hair cut! We just remind you that when getting your child’s hair cut,
please refer to our uniform policy. The policy states:
- Hair should be styled in a manner that attracts positive comments only, with an emphasis on a neat and tidy appearance. No extreme haircuts or styles.
- Minimal products (e.g. hairspray, gel) may be used to tame or control hair, but not to style (e.g. spike) hair.
- Hair must not be bleached or dyed in any way, this includes the addition of hair extensions, hair pieces or coloured braids.
- Hair, including fringes, must not fall on a child’s face, covering their eyes.
- Students’ hair cannot be unevenly shaved, including having any lines shaved into their head. Hair should not be shaved less than a number 3.
- Hair that is collar length or longer must be tied back.
- Girls may use school coloured hair accessories (red, navy/royal blue, golden yellow). Hair accessories can include: ribbons, scrunchies, thin headbands or plain clips to hold hair back.
- Hair should be cut in an evenly cut manner. Hair should not have an extreme difference in length, but rather be of a blended appearance.
Happy Birthday to the following students and staff who are celebrating
their birthday this week

NSW Police Legacy Child Safety Handbook
The health and wellbeing of our children is everyone’s responsibility. As Patron of New South Wales Police Legacy, I am honoured to contribute a message to all parents, carers, teachers and members of the community who will read this new edition of the Child Safety Handbook.
Within these pages is a wealth of pro-active and preventative measures to keep our youngest and most vulnerable members of our community healthy and safe – at school and at home, with family members and with friends, while on the street and online, and during outdoor play and natural emergencies.
I congratulate New South Wales Police Legacy for its continuing commitment to providing a copy of this invaluable and updated resource to parents of primary school-aged children throughout our State.
Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO QC
Governor of New South Wales
