Dear Parents/Carers,
Jesus,
you have known us from the beginning of time,
you have known us in the depths of our dreams,
you know us as your beloved.
Help us more and more in this season of Lent.
Give us the rock-solid assurance of your unwavering faith in us
as we seek the same in you.
Amen.
Cross Country
This Friday is our school's Cross Country. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the weather will be favourable. If we decide to postpone it, we will inform everyone on Thursday via Compass.
Thank you to the parents who are able to assist as a volunteer on the day. We are disappointed that we are unable to have parents and carers join us as spectators. As we are currently experiencing a high number of COVID cases amongst students, families and staff, we deemed it too high a risk in having people cheering and mingling in a fairly confined space. As I mentioned in last week's Newsletter, we are currently making plans to enable parents to safely attend some of our regular school events from Term 2, such as Award assemblies and Masses. In time, when the number of COVID cases decrease, we can then move to more informal and social events at school.
Kindergarten 2023 Enrolments
If you have a friend or family member who is considering enrolling their child at St John's for Kindergarten 2023, we ask that you encourage them to contact our office for an enrolment form. On Wednesday 4th May from 3.30-5.30pm we are hosting an 'Open School Afternoon' for any prospective families. Please spread the word.
Staff Professional Development Day
We are giving you advance notice that our staff will have one of its allocated Professional Development days on Monday 2nd May. This will be a pupil-free day.
Wishing you a safe and peaceful week,
Campbelltown ANZAC Day Service
All children from St John's are invited to join in the Campbelltown RSL ANZAC Day March and Commemorative Ceremony. We will join the march as a school group to honour all those who have served for our country. Children are asked to wear their full winter school uniform. The gathering for the march will be at the entrance to Campbelltown Mall on Queen St from 8.15am. School staff will be there to meet the students. The march will make its way along Queen St to the War Memorial at Mawson Park for the Commemorative Ceremony beginning at 9.00am.
ANZAC Day, April 25, falls on the day before school returns for Term 2 so we hope to see as many students as possible.
For the first two weeks of Term 2 children will have the option of wearing either the summer or winter school uniform. From the start of Week 3, Monday 9 May, all children are to be wearing the winter school uniform.
Happy Birthday to the following students and staff who are celebrating their birthday this week , 27th March - 2nd April
