Dear parents and carers,
Dear Lord we pray for Queen Elizabeth and her exceptional reign,
her deep affection for her people,
her lifelong desire to serve the common good,
her humility and grace, hard work and dedication,
we thank You, Living Lord.
Our school joins the global community in honouring the life of Queen Elizabeth. In the midst all the traditions and ceremonies that are taking place at the moment in the United Kingdom, it is obvious that the dedication she gave to her role has been acknowledged around the world. Her life was definitely a lesson in loyalty and commitment. In speaking with some of the children at school, most were not sure what she did but they seemed to have an understanding that she was important because she did her job for so long. One comment from a child summed up a lot of the responses I was given: "I know that she was very old and still doing her job really well."
Next week, classes will be engaged in some activities to help them connect with her story, and on Tuesday they are able to wear blue mufti clothes, as that was her favourite colour.
Just like all schools across Australia, we will be closed on the newly announced Public Holiday on Thursday 22 September.
Year 6 Canberra Excursion
Staff Development Day
The next Staff Development Day will be held on Friday 14 October. Please note that this will be a Pupil Free Day.
Wishing you all a happy and safe week,

Principal
YEAR 6 EXCURSION TO CANBERRA
The Year 6 students were a credit to their families, teachers and our school. Their behaviour overall was outstanding. Many positive remarks were made from guides and members of the public about the children’s behaviour, good manners and wearing their uniform with pride.
It was a valuable learning experience for all the children. Apart from the opportunities to learn at the different venues, there were also times where the students were learning about life skills. Next week, some of our Year 6 students will report on their visit to Canberra.
Thank you to Mrs Hampton, Mrs Vazquez, Mrs Guyer and Mr Dahler for their dedication and time away from their families to support the Year 6 students with this overnight excursion.
UNIFORM FOCUS- HOUSE COLOUR COMPETITION
Next week our House Colour Competition will be awarded to the students who have collected the most tokens for their house by consistently wearing the correct uniform this term.
The winning house will be announced on Tuesday, 20 September. The reward however will now take place on Wednesday, 21 September due to the public holiday now taking place on Thursday, 22 September. On this day students from the winning house will be rewarded with a mufti day and zooper dooper.
Year 3 has an excursion on Wednesday, 21 September. As a result, another day will be organised for Year 3 students to receive their reward, who are in the winning house colour.
Happy Birthday to the following students and staff who are celebrating their
