Dear Parents/Carers,
Risen Lord, the joyful message is that suffering and death were not the end. You rose triumphantly in a new and glorified body, opening the door for all who believe in You to do the same. Draw me in, dear Lord, to Your suffering and death so that I may also be drawn into the glory of Your Resurrection. Give me the courage You had as You endured so much. Help me to face the crosses in my life with Your strength.
Halleluia! May the glory of Your Resurrection be loved, embraced and proclaimed until the end of time and forever more!
The election of a new Pope is a momentous event in the Catholic Church, reflecting the hope for spiritual guidance and leadership. The conclave, where cardinals elect the new Pope, is a process steeped in tradition, focusing on selecting a leader who can navigate the challenges and opportunities facing the Church today. As it begins today we pray for the election process and that the Holy Spirit provides the cardinals with the spiritual guidance they need.
Athletics Carnival
I would like to sincerely thank the parents and carers who were able to assist at our school's Athletics Carnival last Friday. It was a great success, largely due to the support that we received. Giving up the whole day to ensure all of the events were able to run smoothly was greatly appreciated. I would also like to acknowledge Mrs Sinfield and her team of staff members who spent many hours preparing for the day.
Staff Development Days for Term 2
You are reminded of the two Staff Development Days being held this term:
- Friday 6 June
- Friday 4 July (this means the end of Term 2 for the students is Thursday 3 July)
Students do not come to school on these days.
With every blessing for the week ahead,
Paul Moroney
Principal
TELL THEM FROM ME SURVEY
In the coming weeks we will be inviting students, teachers and parents to provide feedback on their experience of our school using an online survey. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process.
We would like to invite you to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and wellbeing at St John the Evangelist, Campbelltown.
It will be made available to parents and carers via a link in the newsletter next week and can also be accessed through Compass. The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
We thank you in anticipation of your support of this survey.
TERM 2 CLASS CAPTAINS
Our Term 2 Class Captains will be provided with their badges on Monday, 12 May (Week 3) at the morning assembly. We will inform parents via Compass of who our Term 2 Class Captains are, so you might be available to grab a photo and see your child receive their badge.
We are confident that our student leaders will be great examples for others demonstrating our Good Samaritan values and ‘Walking in Peace and Joy’.
ANNUAL SCHOOL ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
Thankfully we managed to hold our Annual School Athletics Carnival last Friday, 2 May at the Narellan Sports Hub. Our school community enjoyed another wonderful carnival.
Congratulations to all the students for the way they participated throughout the day. It was evident how much they enjoyed it with smiles on everyone's faces. There was lots of success on and off the track.
Thank you to the parent helpers, the students from Good Samaritan Catholic College and the teachers who assisted with the running of the carnival.
A special thank you to Mrs Sinfeld for all her hard work in planning and organising the day.

Lily was recently selected as 1 of 8 girls to perform vocally for a large Corporate Convention at the ICC. She was thrilled to be part of this amazing opportunity and sang beautifully for the event.
