Dear Parents and Caregivers,
2020-2022 National Chaplaincy Program Application process
St John’s is interested in participating in the National School Chaplaincy Program for 2020 to 2022. Please respond to this 30 second survey.
School Chaplains support the wellbeing of students and the school community. Participation in programs delivered by the chaplain is voluntary. Chaplains deliver a range of non-therapeutic welfare, spiritual and emotional support to students, families and staff at the school.
Some of these beneficial activities may include:
- Grief and loss programs
- Support for the spiritual needs of the school community
- Individual support
- Mindfulness
- Parent workshops
- School community support initiatives
- Social justice groups
- Social skills groups
- Youth groups
Thank you for your response in this survey. These results will be used in the application process for the 2020 Chaplaincy Program.
CONFIRMATION
This coming weekend will be a time of great joy for our school and parish community as we warmly welcome Bishop Brian Mascord, who will confer the sacrament of Confirmation to those students who are in Year 6. This is the third sacrament of initiation following on from Baptism and First Holy Communion.
Through the sacrament of Confirmation, we pray that the Holy Spirit will come upon those receiving the sacrament, just as it happened to the disciples of Jesus at Pentecost. We pray that the coming of the Holy Spirit will inspire, nourish and support those who are now considered to be fully initiated and confirm the faith that will be a source of strength into adulthood.
